Adjectives
Adjectives give life and color to language. They also help us to
give more exact pictures of what we are telling about, if we now
how to select them carefully. As you improve your skill in using
these words, your language will become more interesting and more
explicit.
There are two kinds
of adjectives: descriptive adjectives and limiting adjectives.
Adjectives derived form proper nouns are called proper
adjectives.
Adjectives that complete the meaning of the verb and modify the
subject are called predicate adjectives.
The form of an adjective is often changed to show the extent or
degree to which a certain quality is present. In grammar, this change
in form to show a difference in degree is called comparison.
