Kind of nouns
In English nouns are divided into 2 main classes called common
nouns and proper nouns. A common noun names any
one of a class of persons, places, or things:

a group of persons, objects, or acts:

Some nouns are common nouns in one sentence and proper
nouns in another sentence:
I went to the theater with May. -
The play was given at the Grand Theater.
Roy is studying to be a doctor. - This is Dr. Smith.
We spent the summer at the lake. - Did you ever cross the
Lake Erie?
