Forms of adverbs
some people have the idea, that all adverbs end in ly. There
are a great many adverbs that do end in ly, but there are
probably just as many that do not end in ly. Many adverbs
are formed by adding ly to the adjective form:

Some adjectives have the same form as the adverb. In such cases,
the only one way you can tell whether the word is an adjective or
adverb, is to determine its use in a particular sentence.
That was a hard task (hard - adjective, modifies
task)
Our janitor works hard (hard - adverb, modifies works)
